Leading the Next Generation of Young Minds with Innovative Learning through STEAM Activities

Our Goal

Quantum Vision Quest empowers the next generation of youth to become collaborative innovators who ethically create with technology versus being mere consumers of it – to help break socio-economic barriers and achieve the upward mobility required to compete in tomorrow’s global economy of skilled workers.

Vision

Quantum Vision Quest offers activities that zone in on the Technology, Engineering, and Art aspects of the S.T.E.A.M. teaching initiative.

There are key differences in our service offerings that make our approach stand out from other organizations.

We are not bound by a geographical location or a physical number of available seats. We can set up a mobile classroom at a school or community center using the contents of a tote. We can also provide remote instruction that can be accessed from a cellphone, tablet, or pc. Other service providers take the approach of bringing students to their central location which severely limits their capacity to make a significant impact.

We introduce mentors who have similar backgrounds and life experiences. In fact, our long-term plans are to use professional networks to find mentors who have similar backgrounds and life experiences. We also plan to recruit current program participants as ambassadors for future introductions. Other service providers do not have the capacity or contacts to find such mentors.

21st Century Skills

STEAM is not just about learning to program. It’s about embracing 21st Century Learning Skills which many employers agree are more important than actual hard skills (i.e. the act of programming versus applying programming concepts to solve a problem). They are also known as the 6 C’s and are listed as follows:
COLLABORATION
Social skills, building community, learning to control social impulses
CRITICAL THINKING
Learning how to sift through information and to retain what is relevant to the problem at hand
COMMUNICATION
Listening, strong language skills, writing
CREATIVE INNOVATION
Putting information you have together in new ways, divergent thinking
CONTENT
The 3Rs and so much more, with learning to learn and executive-function skills
CONFIDENCE
Grit, positive mindset

How It Works

Whether you are trying to keep idle hands busy during the pandemic, or supplement existing education, have your kids come and enjoy our virtual STEM camp. All you need is a device with an internet connection.

STEAM activities are presented in an informal setting and are designed to maximize learning potential. Each activity is a series of live one-hour classes that span multiple weeks that meet in a small virtual group of peers. Your kids choose the topics they are interested in.
